Function:  the progenitor born from the sacred cow Zemun, son of Rod, is the god of cattle and harvest, as well as wisdom and art, wealth, property, cleverness, trade, charms and divination, the guide of souls in Nava where he is appointed ruler and king.                Image: one of the forms is that of an old gray-haired man in white robes with a shepherd's staff, like a king sometimes he wears a golden royal crown on his head, but he prefers to replace it with a leather band around his head, and this is how Veles appears especially as a teacher. The second form is the fighting form of a young horned warrior dressed in leather. Then he usually has a copy in his hands as a protector and guardian        Incarnations and descendants:  Vodan, Usud, Podaga, Svetogor, Kovlad,  Živa  a Morena,  Perplut, Polevik a Kurent       Symbols: bear, bull, plow, shepherd's staff, well, hundred-nut, the day dedicated to Veles is Wednesday            Sacrifices: bread, porridge, grain, poppy seeds, oats, eggs, honey, nuts, wool, leather and fur, linen, pots, but also money, wine, beer, milk, fruit and flowers.                  Holidays: Veles' holidays started during the period of the first full moon after the first full moon (February 1) and lasted for six days. The second Veles holiday was celebrated at the time of the full moon after the summer solstice (June 21)                         Note: The earth goddess Mokoš became his wife. Originally, Veles was the ruler of the waters of the earth, but he sold this rule to his son Vodan, who was entrusted with the rule of the world of Nav. During his holidays, priests wore animal masks and fur coats and entered the stables and barns blessing the health of domestic animals. During the winter solstice, a plow was brought under the festive table in honor of Veles.
